My Own Spiritual Journey...
I was raised in the Roman Catholic faith....by very strict nuns and priests....nearly every childhood misdemeanor was considered a Sin...we were hit with canes and belts often as punishment.
Woe betide us if we missed going to Mass...that was a Mortal sin, and we were told often enough that if you died with a mortal sin on your soul, you would 'go straight to Hell!'
Sometime during my early teens, I discovered Lobsang Rampa, a Tibetan monk, who wrote numerous books on spirituality. I devoured these avidly and they inspired me to truly begin searching.
I had suddenly discovered the Esoteric world, a world where human failings were still that, but you weren't damned at every turn.
As the years went by, I went often to the Theosophical Society library to borrow books on every subject from reincarnation to lucid dreaming.
I must have read hundreds of books over the years. Each newly discovered topic simply fired my thirst for more.
In 2000 I joined the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis, The true Rosicrucians.
I was with the Order for 5 years. I learned so much in that time, read so many wonderful books and had many interesting discussions with other members.
It was during these years that I discovered Neale Donald Walsch's wonderfully inspiring book; "Conversations with God".
For the first time in my life, I discovered (and truly believed) the Truth that God was a loving, compassionate God and not the vengeful, angry, jealous God that I had always thought Him to be.
This book truly changed my life and it is the one book I turn to when I'm at my lowest. I have recommended that one book to a few people and it has changed their lives also for the better.
Realization that God does not just reside in a church...that He is Everywhere and can be called on at any moment of the day, wherever we are, brought me back to Him.
That one book, together with Kathleen McGowan's "The Expected One", have also brought me to the incredible illumination that Jesus Christ's true Gospel was not being preached nor practiced by the Catholic church.
What a bunch of hypocrites those men at the Vatican are. They know the Truth, but refuse to acknowledge it, holding steadfast to doctrines that have been heavily edited and changed to suit their political agendas.
And so I have learned over the years, to search and keep searching...read everything and take on board those aspects that feel like Truth, deep in your innermost being...this is Gnosis or knowing.
